Ellen
McGrath, Ph.D.,
is a clinical psychologist and head of the Behavioral Section of the La
Palestra Weight Management Program in New York City. For the past five
years, she was the director of the Outpatient Eating Disorders Clinic at
University of California–Irvine Medical School. For twelve years, Dr.
McGrath has been a full-time faculty member at the University of
California–Irvine Medical School, the University of Rochester School of
Medicine, and a part-time faculty member at New York University. She is
a past president of both the Media Psychology Division and the Division
of Psychotherapy of the American Psychological Association, and an APA
Council Representative. Dr. McGrath is the author of three books on
stress and depression management. Listed by three national women’s
magazines as one of the top therapists in the country, Dr. McGrath was
honored again in 2001 as the Outstanding Psychologist of the year by the
Psychotherapy Division of the American Psychological Association.
