Karen
Zager, Ph.D.,
is a
psychologist who has been in full-time private practice in New York
since she received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Fordham
University in 1981. She served as president of Psychologists in
Independent Practice, a division of the American Psychological
Association, and received a Presidential Citation from the American
Psychological Association for her contribution to the field of
psychology. She is coauthor of a recent book, The Inside Story on
Teen Girls, and consulted on the film 5 Girls, which aired on
PBS. She has made frequent radio and TV appearances, including Good
Morning America, The Donohue Show, Sally Jesse Raphael, and the
O’Reilly Report, and she is interviewed regularly for magazines such
as Parenting, YM, Newsweek, and Time. She has been married
for more than thirty years, and has two sons attending college.
